Partnerships / Memberships

 

Women in Transport is a not-for-profit organisations that empowers women in the industry to maximise their potential, working together to promote a diverse and strong transport workforce that supports UK growth.

Reed Mobility joined Women in Transport on International Women’s Day 2022 to support and contribute to these vital aims and in line with our aim to deliver transport systems that are ethical and equitable. In 2023, Reed Mobility won the Cross-Sector award in the Women in Transport Equity Index for its commitment to equitable working practices.

The International Transport Experts Network (ITEN) is a network of independent experts providing research, consultancy, strategic advice & scientific expertise in topics across the transport sector.

Reed Mobility contributes to the network in the fields of connected and automated vehicles, human factors and transport innovation, partnering with fellow members to deliver projects for the likes of Transport for London.

ITS UK is the association for the promotion of Intelligent Transport Systems. Membership includes more than 150 organisations, comprises Government Departments, Local Authorities, consultants, manufacturing and service companies, and research institutions

Reed Mobility joins ITS UK to explore and support the use of technologies to deliver safer, cleaner, more efficient, more ethical, more equitable transport.

TyreSafe is the UK's leading authority on tyre safety. It was established in 2006 with the aim of reducing the number of tyre-related incidents on Britain's roads by raising awareness of the importance of tyre maintenance and the dangers of defective and illegal tyres.

Reed Mobility joined TyreSafe to support its critical activities in helping drivers, riders and businesses understand the importance of the interface between vehicles and the road surface.

 

Innovation

 

In 2020, Zenzic - the organisation dedicated to accelerating the self-driving revolution in the UK - launched the ‘CAM Creators update’ of their UK Connected and Automated Mobility Roadmap to 2030.

Reed Mobility is proud to be recognised as a CAM Creator - one of the organisations contributing to delivery of the milestones and objectives identified in the roadmap.

The Smart Mobility Living Lab (SMLL) is the world’s most advanced real-world urban testbed for CAVs and new mobility concepts in the heart of London, led by TRL and DG Cities.

Reed Mobility founder, Nick Reed led the creation of the original concept for the SMLL whilst working at TRL. Reed Mobility joins an exciting community of innovators (including Honda, Nissan, Aviva, CoMoUK, Bestmile and Immense), generating research insights and collaborative R&D.

The Connected Places Catapult (CPC) has a mission to support the innovation of growth of ideas to improve our ways of living, working and travelling, having been formed from the merger of the Transport Systems Catapult and Future Cities Catapult.

Reed Mobility joins CPC’s community of disruptive mobility SMEs, investors and corporate leaders working to achieve safer, cleaner and more efficient transportation systems.

 

Support

 

The road safety charity, Brake, does incredible work supporting those bereaved or seriously injured by road crashes; helping communities organise for safer mobility and campaigning for safer streets and the rights of victims of road crashes.

Reed Mobility founder, Nick Reed, is a trustee of the charity, supporting strategy, media and fundraising activities.

RoadSafe is a charitable partnership bringing together private sector with government and road safety professionals, aiming to reduce road deaths and injuries by promoting the safe system, sharing knowledge, encouraging innovation and recognising achievement.

Reed Mobility supports Roadsafe as an advisor, a judge for the Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards and in supporting their CAV Safety hub website.

FISITA is the international network for automotive and mobility systems engineers, pushing the boundaries of technology while maintaining high ethical standards, delivering continuous improvement and enabling progress that will benefit society.

Reed Mobility founder, Nick Reed, is a non-executive director of FISITA UK with a focus on mobility strategy and technology.

THE ROAD SAFETY TRUST

The Road Safety Trust is an independent charity that supports projects, activities and research, helping to reduce risk on UK roads through grants of up to £500,000. It is funded from surpluses generated by the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS).

Reed Mobility founder, Nick Reed, is a trustee of the charity and supports the review and selection of projects for funding as a member of the Road Safety Initiatives Committee.

 

Chartership and Academia

The BPS is a registered charity which acts as the representative body for psychology in the UK.

Reed Mobility founder Nick Reed became a Chartered Psychologist in 2013 and an Associate Fellow and Chartered Scientist in 2015, dedicated to delivering robust research to the highest ethical standards and committed to embracing equity, diversity and inclusion in all work.

Under the leadership of Prof. Costas Karageorghis, a programme of research is being conducted by Brunel and Coventry universities into the effects of music on driving behaviour.

Reed Mobility brings expert knowledge on simulator study design, data analysis and technical paper authorship. Nick Reed also supports PhD completion, acting as external examiner for studies completed at University of Cambridge, Open University, University of Warwick and the Royal College of Art.
